Meet the Artist: Victoria Brown
as written to us by Victoria Brown
Ever since I first laid my eyes on Jean-Michel Basquiat's work I was inspired to go further with my creative side. I also remember passing FDR and seeing Harring's "Crack is Wack" mural and wondering more and more about him and his art. I realized all the doodles on the side of my boring Middle school and high school course notes were made to come alive and exist on canvas. As I grew older I became inspired by all the people I've met and places I've lived due to being a military brat: Fresno and Madera, California, Leesville, Louisiana, laurel, Maryland, Poconos, PA, East Orange, NJ, Jersey city, NJ, Hazleton, PA and soon Brooklyn, NY and State College, PA. In a mere 20 years I've been blessed to live so many places. I decided to share my art through this awesome digital world that's becoming more relevant by purchasing a Wacom graphic tablet. I now have started my own brand called "WillWork4Food" the name behind it is because you have to work to eat. In life to be successful, you Must work hard. Stay motivated, focused, and most importantly consistent. With this brand I create fashion pins for people of my artwork! I currently major in printmaking at Penn State University and in the future I see myself having an awesome brand that creates shirts, pins, skateboard decks, anything and everything. I refuse to keep myself limited to only one form of art.
